C10-Significant Benefit Work Permit

The C10 – Significant Benefit Work Permit is a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA)-exempt work permit under Canada’s International Mobility Program (IMP). It is designed for foreign nationals whose employment in Canada would provide a significant social, cultural, or economic benefit to the country.
This pathway is ideal for individuals who may not qualify under other LMIA-exempt categories but can demonstrate that their work will have a substantial positive impact on Canada.

Applicants must demonstrate that their proposed employment in Canada offers significant benefits, such as:

• Economic Benefits: Job creation, development of Canadian industry, or advancement of technology.
• Social or Cultural Benefits: Contributions to cultural enrichment, academic excellence, or community development.
• Advancement of Canadian Interests: Enhancing Canada’s competitiveness, supporting international trade relations, or contributing to public policy objectives.

Examples of eligible applicants include:

• Entrepreneurs launching innovative businesses.
• Artists or performers of international acclaim.
• Academics or researchers contributing to significant projects.
• Professionals with unique expertise not readily available in Canada.

To apply for a C10 work permit:

2. Employer Compliance: If applicable, your prospective employer must submit an offer of employment through the Employer Portal and pay the employer compliance fee.
