Launch Your Global Career in Canada
Canada’s Young Professionals Work Permit opens doors for ambitious individuals looking to build international experience in their field of study. As one of the three streams under the International Experience Canada (IEC) program, this pathway offers a chance to gain valuable work experience in Canada with an employer-specific work permit — while immersing yourself in a new cultural and professional environment.
Ideal for post-secondary graduates between the ages of 18 and 35, this program fosters international career growth, cultural exchange, and future immigration potential.
What is the Young Professionals Stream?
The Young Professionals Work Permit is an employer-specific work permit available to citizens of countries that have a youth mobility agreement with Canada. It is designed for individuals who:
- Hold a post-secondary diploma or degree
- Have a signed job offer related to their field of study
- Intend to enhance their career development
Unlike the Working Holiday stream, this permit is not open, and applicants must have a professional job offer before applying.
Who is Eligible?
To qualify for the Young Professionals Work Permit, you must:
✅ Be a citizen of an IEC-partner country
✅ Be 18–35 years old (exact age range depends on your country)
✅ Hold a post-secondary diploma or degree
✅Have a signed, paid, full-time job offer in a NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 role (TEER 4 may qualify if the job relates directly to your field of study)
✅ Ensure the job enhances your professional development
✅ Apply via the IEC invitation system
This permit does not allow self-employment and is restricted to one employer for the duration of the work permit.
