The Yukon Nominee Program (YNP) offers pathways to permanent residence for individuals who can contribute to the territory’s economy. The program includes several streams:

Each stream targets specific groups of applicants based on labor market needs and economic priorities.
Skilled Worker Program
This stream is for skilled workers with a valid job offer in a high-skilled occupation (TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3) from an eligible Yukon employer.
Eligibility:
● Full-time, permanent job offer in a TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 occupation.
● At least 12 months of full-time relevant work experience.
● Minimum language proficiency of CLB 6.
● Minimum of high school education or Canadian equivalency.
● Meet licensing or certification requirements for the occupation.
Critical Impact Worker Program
This stream is for semi-skilled workers with a valid job offer in a TEER 4 or 5 occupation from an eligible Yukon employer.
Eligibility:
● Full-time, permanent job offer in a TEER 4 or 5 occupation.
● At least 6 months of full-time relevant work experience.
● Minimum language proficiency of CLB 4.
● Minimum of high school education or Canadian equivalency.
● Meet licensing or certification requirements for the occupation.
Yukon Express Entry (YEE)
This stream is aligned with the federal Express Entry system and is for candidates with a valid job offer in a TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 occupation from an eligible Yukon employer.
Eligibility:
● Active Express Entry profile and Job Seeker Validation Code.
● Meet the requirements of one of the federal economic immigration programs.
● Full-time, permanent job offer in a TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 occupation.
● Sufficient settlement funds as per IRCC requirements.
● Genuine intention to live and work in Yukon.
Yukon Community Program (YCP)
This stream is for candidates with 2 to 3 part-time job offers from up to 3 employers in the same participating Yukon community, totaling at least 1,560 hours per year.
Eligibility:
● 2 to 3 part-time job offers from 1 to 3 eligible Yukon employers.
● Total annual hours must equal at least 1,560 (equivalent to full-time work).
● Job offers must be in the same participating Yukon community.
● Meet the criteria of either the Skilled Worker or Critical Impact Worker stream, depending on the TEER level of the occupations.
Business Nominee Program
This stream is for experienced entrepreneurs who intend to start, purchase, or invest in a business in Yukon.
Eligibility:
● Minimum net worth of CAD $500,000.
● Minimum investment of CAD $300,000 in a Yukon business.
● Minimum of 3 years of business management or entrepreneurial experience.
● Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
● Minimum of high school education or Canadian equivalency.
● Score a minimum of 65 points on the Yukon Nominee Program assessment grid.
Application Process
1. Determine Eligibility: Review the criteria for the desired YNP stream.
2. Obtain Job Offer: Secure a full-time, permanent job offer from an eligible Yukon employer.
3. Submit Expression of Interest (EOI): Employers submit an EOI during designated intake periods. For 2025, the intake period is from March 31 to April 22.
4. Receive Invitation to Apply (ITA): If selected, the employer and foreign national complete and submit the full application.
5. Application Assessment: The YNP assesses the application.
6. Nomination: If approved, the nominee receives a nomination certificate.
7. Apply for Permanent Residence: The nominee applies to IRCC for permanent residence within 6 months of nomination.
8. Work Permit: The nominee may apply for a temporary work permit to work in Yukon while the permanent residence application is processed.
Processing Times and Intakes
● Processing Times: Typically range from 12 to 14 weeks from receipt of a complete application.
